Branson Scenic Railway®

America’s romance with the vintage passenger train lives on through excursions on the Branson Scenic Railway® aboard a collection of unique passenger cars that travel through the foothills of the Ozark Mountains.

In 1905, construction of the White River Railway through the rugged Ozarks was completed. It was a challenging feat that required overcoming the region’s rough terrain. This significant achievement not only connected the area but also opened up new opportunities for growth and development in the Ozarks.

Branson’s evolution from a small store in 1882 to a thriving town by 1912 was largely driven by the arrival of the railroad. This connection transformed the area into a key tourism destination.

In 1993, the Branson Scenic Railway® was formed, and today, the historic White River Route continues to operate from March through December, highlighting the lasting impact of the railway on the region.
